The Syriac Maronite prayer of incense, for the Faithful Departed, is usually said at the home of the deceased.

It consists of two hymns and a concluding prayer -- A primary common hymn, and 3 sets of  supplication hymns, each with a concluding prayer: for a man, a woman, and the Faithful Departed.

{ See the attached document, for the content of the hymns and prayers}

The Syriac text has been prepared and translated into English, by Beith Souryoyé Morounoyé.

Some Rubrics:

The one carrying the cross stands, in the home of the deceased, to the side of the body location. And near him stands those who carry the candles, the censer, and the incense. Then the celebrating priest lays down incense, and the pastor of the parish incenses  the cross, the celebrating priest, the other priests, the people, and lastly the body of the deceased. While the first hymn is being chanted.

PS. Nowadays, this may also happen in the hall of a Church, or in a funeral home.
